Hudson Souther, 18 months old, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 after a long tough battle of health complications from birth at Park Ridge Hospital.
Hudson was born to the proud parents of Chris and Angie Gregory Souther. He was born ten weeks premature, was diagnosed with Down syndrome and then at 3 months underwent open heart surgery. In all his surgeries and hospital stays he never gave up his courageous fight for life. He fought till the very end. Little Hudson will be remembered by his smile that could light up a room. When he smiled, all seemed to be right with the world.
He is survived by his parents, Chris and Angie Souther; the world's best big brother, Greyson Gregory; grandparents, Debi and Farrell Carpenter and Jerry and Becky Souther; uncle, Jeremiah Carpenter and Aunt, Shannon Cole. Hudson will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road. The family will receive friends following the service at the Funeral Home.

There are no words or anything anyone can do to ease your pain. Just a lot of prayers that God will wrap his ares around you and comfort you. He’s in Heaven now with his little angel wings with a perfect little body and no more pain. Courtney and I only got to see Hudson one time, but Courtney fell in love with him. My mind goes back to the day I saw a mom talking away to her little baby coming out of Kohl’s. I thought, they are so sweet, as I locked my car and starting walking I realized it was not only the best mom in the world but my friend Angie with little Hudson. His smile was contagious and both of you were so in love. To Hudson’s family: You are not alone, God never leaves our side, you all have many people who love you and are truthfully standing with you who realize this is some of the darkest days you have faced. Angie and Debbie, you know I love you. In my whys last night, it was like someone just spoke and said ‘I gave Hudson the best parents in the world, be comforted in that’ I’m praying for all of you and Greyson consistently.
So sorry to learn of Hudson’s struggle for survival was unsuccessful.
