Waynesville ~ Hugh Lee Sellers, 76, of 110 High Street, died unexpectedly Friday, November 16, 2001.

A native of Ackworth, Georgia, he was the son of the late Zelman and Louise Kemp Sailers. Hugh retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with 34 years service with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and a member of ''The Korean Conflict - The Chosen Few''. He also was a member of the American Legion and Longs Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jemima Walker Sailers and his two sisters, Virginia Jones of Atlanta, GA and Helen Locklair of Richmond, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville conducted by the Rev. Steve Kemp.

The family will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family locally.
