H.W. "Pat" Patchett

H.W. "Pat" Patchett, 94, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the VA Medical Center. A native of Detroit, MI, he was a son of the late John and Maria Capaldi Patchett.
Other than his parents Mr. Patchett is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Ball Patchett; also by six brothers, Sam, Frank, Joe, Albert, Earl and Andy Patchett and two sisters, Nellie Polidori and Theresa Smith. He was a veteran of the US Army, retired as an executive from Ford Motor Company, and prepared taxes until he was 90 years old.
He is survived by his son, Jack Pegg of Candler, daughter, Judy Goforth and her husband, Bill of Asheville; four grandchildren, Michael Goforth and his wife, Kim, Donna Goforth Wingo, Sandra Pegg LaFrance and her husband, John and Sharon Pegg Dotson and her husband Chip; eight great grandchildren, Tyler Goforth, Samantha and Dillon Wingo, Hannah and Rachel Dotson, Jack, Claire and Megan LaFrance; one great, great grandson, Michael Benjamin Goforth; one sister-in-law, Rose Patchett and several nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 23, 2012, in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home, Tunnel Road. Interment will be in Ashelawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Everyone should have an Uncle Herman, always there for advise and help. He was there for me in 1964 to get hired into Ford and he was there for me in 2009 when he called after my mom passed. He is already missed. Love Always, your niece Linda
dear judy bill and jack and family . ill miss my uncle with all my heart he allways understood my mother and stuck up for her and took care of her. he was allways to share a smile and offfer his wisdom. to me and help. we had him the first 40 years and you had him the last 54 years we shared a lot and loved a lot. im so sorry . love u allways dolly
Pat was always there to give help with my Taxes. He was always ready with all the answers. I will miss his sharp mind, and quick wit. Praying that his Family may find comfort and Peace in the days ahead. In Christ, Dottie
