Ingrid L. Reid, 87, of 104 Summerglen Drive, Asheville, NC, died Friday, January 27, 2012, at her home.
Born May 15, 1934, in Berlin, Germany, Mrs. Reid was a former resident of Destin, FL, where she was employed by the Destin Elks Lodge for many years. She moved to Asheville four years ago to be near her son and daughter-in-law, Klaus R. "Rocky" and Peggy Hinnenkamp.
In addition to her son and his wife, she is survived by two grandchildren, Michael Hinnenkamp and wife, Angela, and Kristy H. Edwards and husband, Kenny, and two great-granddaughters, Megan and Abby Edwards.
A gathering for family and friends is scheduled for 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, Asheville.

ingrid was a great person and i am so glad that i had the honor of knowing her. we spent many hours talking about life and other ‘stuff’. she was a gift to those of us that took the time to get to know her. she was always there to talk to and help solve the problems of everyday life. we shared special moments at thanksgiving and christmas dinners.when ingrid was under the weather i always made sure she had her dinners at her home. she always had a word of advise when i had a problem raising my daughter.on a lighter note, ingrids majic white russians will be remembered by those brave enough to sit down to a session!! farewell miss ingrid you will be missed.
On behalf of Destin Elks Lodge #2688, I want to say that we share in your grief. We have always had her in our thoughts and prayers and now they also go with you. For all the good times and all the stories and the laughter, we are all truely grateful. She has been, and will continue to be sorely missed.
