Irene Bannister Graham, 87, of 66 Lanvale Avenue, Asheville, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Aston Park Health Care Center.

Mrs. Graham was born in Hart Co., GA, and was a daughter of the late Jesse Oliver and Annie Bell Johnson Bannister. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Clough Graham in 1961.

She was retired from American Enka Corp. and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Faye Graham of Asheville and Anne Elliott and her husband Dr. James Elliott of Asheville, and two grandchildren, Sheila Elliott and Shannon Kranyik and her husband David, all of Raleigh.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. J. Derrill Smith officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
