JACK B. WAGNER Jack Bryan Wagner, 78, of 1017 Gusher Knobb, Spruce Pine, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at his home. Mr. Wagner was born in Murphysboro, IL, and was a son of the late Peter C. and Mary Patterson Wagner. He was also preceded in death by his wife Dolores Linn Wagner who died in 1999. He served as a paratrooper with the 409th Airborne Division of the US Army during WW II and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was a retired pipefitter with the Reichold Chemical Company and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson in his spare time. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Linn of Spruce Pine; a son, Bryan S. Wagner and precious daughter-in-law Mary Wagner of Sterling Heights, MI; two grandchildren, Danielle Gross and Michelle Ishmael; two great-grandchildren, Summer and Michelle; and three sisters, Georgia Lee Sabbaugh of Union Lake, MI, Ruth Wagner of Clawson, MI, and Louella Fransic of Brownstown, MI. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Michigan. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, Asheville, is in charge of the arrangements.
