Asheville~ Jack D. Wright Sr., 82, of 360 School Road East, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, he was son of the late John Latt Wright and Hattie Reagan Wright. He was preceded in death by a son Larry E. Wright and by three brothers, Buck, Rex and Hilliard Wright, three sisters, Lola Ball, Marie Elkins and Connie Williams. Jack was owner and operator of Service Paint Company for thirty years. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Ruth Brackett Wright, two daughters, Marian W. Swinson of Wilmington and Gilda Wright of Asheville, a son, Jack D. Wright Jr. of Asheville, five grandchildren, Scott Cook, Jatana Mitchell, Jack Wright III, Brittany Wright and Leigh Wright. Jack is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Gates Cook, Madison Cook, Justin B. Wright, Junie Mae Mitchell and Essie Bea Mitchell. Services for Jack will be held Saturday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Donny Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence from 6-8 pm Friday evening and one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

    Words cannot express, such a shock, I have fond memories, growing up as a Child. My Memories are My Treasure. Ruth, You are such a dear Lady.   3. I can remember growing up and comming to your house bihind the rec park. I can also rember chico the bird. I have told my son Jamie about jack and chico he likes to here the stories about how we grew up. My deepest symothy is with Ruth and the kids. We love you.
