Jack Burks Obenshain, III, 75, of 600 Merrimon Avenue, Apt. 22-A, Asheville, died Tuesday, December 21, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.

Mr. Obenshain was born in Montvale, VA, and was a son of the late James B. and Virginia Garrett Obenshain. He was a mechanical engineer and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Baston Obenshain, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 1201 Riverside Drive, by Father Hugh C. Edsall, assisted by the Reverend Alexander H. Hanks, Jr.. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

His family will receive friends in the Parish House immediately following the service and they request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Redeemer, PO Box 8893, Asheville, NC 28814-8893.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
