James "Jamey" Doran Moery

James Doran Moery passed to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 4th, 2021, the result of long-term health complications.

James, known endearingly as “Jamey,” was born on March 14th, 1957. He was the son of Richard and Lucille Moery of Asheville, NC.

Jamey married the love of his life, Phyllis Johnson, on April 1st, 1975. Together, they had two boys: Nathaniel Benjamin Moery (Teresa) and Chase Johnson Moery.

Jamey is survived by his father, wife, children, and also by his beloved sister, Gayla Upton (Bill); and his brothers, Gary Anders, Phillip Anders (Faye), Jimmy Player (Bobbie), and Josh Anders (Deanna). Preceding him in death is his mother, Lucille, his step-mother, Patricia Moery, and his brothers, Doran Anders, Keith Anders (Thelma), and Dean Anders.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Friday, April 9th, at 3:00 p.m. All are invited and welcome.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Masks are required and attendance is limited to 50 people at a time.
