James Lemuel Gillespie, 82, of South Turkey Creek,
Leicester, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in an Asheville nursing center.
Mr. Gillespie was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Lawson and Gussie Hipps Gillespie and he was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Belle Grooms Gillespie, a half sister Martha, and a half-brother J.C.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Western Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
