James Marc Thompson

James Marc Thompson, 29, of 54 Fielding Street, Asheville, died Friday, February 23, 2001, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson. He was a member of Sweeten Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Grant Thompson of Greensboro and Paul Thompson of Brevard; paternal grandfather, Clyde Thompson; maternal grandfather Vaughn J. Fox; aunt and uncle Juanita and Eldridge Fox, and special cousins, Greg Fox, Tim Fox and Terri Fox Cutshall.

Services will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2001, at Upper Laurel Baptist Church in Mars Hill with the Revs. Allison Robinson and Cline Hensley, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery beside his maternal great-grandparents, Denver and Belvia Fox.

His family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Honduras Good Samaritan in honor of Juan Miguel whom the family sponsors. Mailing address is in care of 675 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.

    We are all so sorry to hear about Marc. We didn’t find out until Sunday evening. It came as such a shock. Marc was a wonderful, kind and caring person. I don’t think I had seen him since graduation but I remember how he was then and know that he must truely had been a wonderful man. Mom and Dad wanted me to offer you their sympathies. We are all truely for all of your loss. If there is anything any of us can do please let us know.
