James Robert Foehr

James R. (Jim) Foehr Mills River - James R. (Jim) Foehr, of Mills River, entered into rest on May 8, 2015. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mona Lee, and children Matt (Jane Beatty), Linda Weibrecht (Stanley), and Dave (Patti). He also had a special place in his heart for his four grandchildren Andy (Adrienne), Lauren, Emma, and James. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Edna and siblings Bill, Kate, John, and Verzene. Born in East St. Louis, IL, Jim spent the majority of his childhood in St. Louis, MO. After serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War 2, he graduated from St. Louis University. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After the Air Force, Jim joined Monsanto in 1953 where he had a distinguished career until his retirement in 1985. Private services were held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Hendersonville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jim's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
