James Thomas "Tommy" Warren, 65, of 240 Ferry Rd., Asheville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 30, 2007. A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Warren was the son of the late Lloyd Warren, Willena Sams, and stepfather, Martin V. Sams. A 1964 graduate of North Carolina State University, Mr. Warren had retired from the property management business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and one of his greatest joys in life was being a grandfather to his two grandchildren. Mr. Warren is survived by his wife, Gloria Blankenship Warren; daughter, Joelle Warren Sample, of Asheville; half-sisters, Debbie Ingle and Vanette Baldwin, both of Asheville; grandchildren, Chase Warren Sample and Hannah Lynn Sample; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations may be made to Pet Soup Rescue/Animal Adoptions, 215-I Oak Terrace Dr., Asheville, NC, 28806, of which Mr. Warren was actively involved in with his daughter.

  10. We were so saddened when Pat called and told us of Tommy’s passing. He would always cut up with Jasmine when she was ‘working’ at the Tire Store with Papaw Roger. You will be in our thoughts during this difficult time.
