Fletcher – James Wade Souther, 79, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Universal Healthcare Center.
He was the son of the late Fred Lee Souther and Elizabeth Scaggs Souther Grant and husband of the late Peggy Joyce Shipman Souther, who died in 2009. Wade was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Souther.
Wade was a diesel mechanic; owner of Wade's Truck Service and enjoyed fishing. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon Lipe and her husband, Ralph, of Fletcher; granddaughter, Kelly Cook and her husband, Shane, of Fletcher and a sister, Sarah Bugg and her husband, Joe, of Charlotte.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Reverend Todd Reynolds. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Friday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

Wade was special to me I really enjoyed caring for him through hospice if there is anything you need dont hesitate to give me a call.
Sharon and Ralph: We were very, very sorry to hear about Uncle Wade. It’s so hard to believe that he and Daddy are both gone now. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
