Jane Carolyn Schierle, 81, of Fairview, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her home following a brief illness.
A native of Westfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ada Skinner
Mrs. Schierle was a resident of Buncombe County since 1972 and was retired from AT&T where she worked as a telephone operator. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and she had a particular long time love for her cats.
Preceded in death by her son, James Schierle, she is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John A. Schierle; three daughters, Janet Schierle and husband Albert Lopuch of Fairview, Kathy Collins of Swannanoa and Diane McWilliams and her husband Kirk of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Bronson Boudrieau, Christie Myers, Eric Collins, Megan McWilliams and Sean McWilliams; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, Fletcher.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
