Janice Spivey Plemmons, 70, of 710 Sand Hill Rd., Asheville, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A Georgia native, Mrs. Plemmons was daughter of the late Otis and Jeanette Daniel Spivey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Plemmons, her son, Allen R. Plemmons, two sisters, Joyce Jordan and Doris Foutz, and one brother, Hardy Spivey. Mrs. Plemmons was a retired restaurant owner. Mrs. Plemmons is survived by a daughter, Carol E. Plemmons, of Asheville; three sons, Blanton V. Plemmons, of Asheville, Jasper Robin Plemmons of Clyde, and Steven Edward Plemmons of Asheville; two sisters, Leah Hare and Myrtle Dollar, both of Perry, GA; one brother, Benjamin Otis Spivey, also of Perry, GA; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
