Janice Spivey Plemmons, 70, of 710 Sand Hill Rd., Asheville, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
A Georgia native, Mrs. Plemmons was daughter of the late Otis and Jeanette Daniel Spivey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Plemmons, her son, Allen R. Plemmons, two sisters, Joyce Jordan and Doris Foutz, and one brother, Hardy Spivey. Mrs. Plemmons was a retired restaurant owner.
Mrs. Plemmons is survived by a daughter, Carol E. Plemmons, of Asheville; three sons, Blanton V. Plemmons, of Asheville, Jasper Robin Plemmons of Clyde, and Steven Edward Plemmons of Asheville; two sisters, Leah Hare and Myrtle Dollar, both of Perry, GA; one brother, Benjamin Otis Spivey, also of Perry, GA; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

TO THE FAMILY,,I AM SO SAD FOR THE PASSING OF JANICE,,ONE OF A KIND,,HER STORIES OF HER PAST WILL BE MISSED,,I COULD SIT AND LISTEN AS LONG AS SHE WAS TALKING..SHE LOVED LIFE,,HER FAMILY AND HER FRIENDS..HER AND POP WAS SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO ME,,MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE,FOR SURE..I REMEMBER HOW POP COULD,,MAKE YOU FEEL SO SPECIAL,,I CAN STILL SEE HIS SMILE,,JUST THINK HE IS SHOWING JANICE AROUND HEAVEN,,,JUST PICTURE HIS SMILE NOW,,AND THEY BOTH HAVE NEW BODIES..I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE FEELING NOW,,THIS HUMAN BODY TAKES OVER,,WHEN WE LOOSE OUR MOTHER,WE HAVE LOST OUR BEST FRIEND..BUT LIFE IS LIKE A VAPOR,,WE HAVE TO BE READY..AND WITH TIME GOD ERASES OUR PAIN..NOT OUR MEMORIES..BUT OUR PAIN..SHE WOULD NOT WANT US TO GRIEVE…THIS IS JUST THE LAST OF ONE OF HER INTERESTING JOURNEYS,,SHE ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT..SHE LOVED YOU,,JUST REMEMBER WE CAN GO TO HER…CHERISH HER MEMORIES THEY ARE FOREVER…I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH…YOU ARE LIKE FAMILY…IF MY TEARS COULD BRING HER BACK,,,SHE WOULD BE HERE,,WE WOULD NOT CALL HER BACK..SHE HAS A NEW BODY AND PAIN FREE…AND WITH POP…HOW GOOD DOES IT GET..HEAVEN IS REAL…YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS ..AND REMEMBER,,GOD SAID,I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU… JEAN
