Janice Marie Walker Robinson, 68, of Candler, went to her heavenly home Friday, May 10, 2013, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Robinson was born in Forsyth County and was a daughter of the late Edward Eugene Walker and Charlotte Tate Walker Brank. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. Janice had been active in the nursing profession until her own illness forced her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Robinson; three daughters, Creola Jones and husband, Donnie, Marie Robinson, and Christy Keever and husband, Mark; five grandchildren, Brent Wilson, David Wilson, Aaron Plemmons, Kevin Plemmons, and Preslee Keever; a step-granddaughter, Loren Jones; and a sister, Sandra Leah Kendell and her husband, Andy. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Eugene Walker. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at West Asheville Baptist Church with the Revs. Stan Welch and Tony Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813, or to the Building Fund of West Asheville Baptist Church, 927 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
