Jason Patrick Sampson, 29, of 36 Sampson Place, Leicester, died accidentally Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at his home.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Billy and Freda Rogers Sampson of Leicester. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, T.J. Sampson and maternal grandparents, Charlie and Hilma Rogers of Andrews.
Jason was a musician who enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of the H2O Youth Group.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Steven Sampson and his wife, Emily, of Black Mountain and Baron Sampson and Sarah, of Leicester; his niece, Calia Sampson, and his paternal grandmother, Lazelle Sampson of Leicester.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Dr. Gray Little and David Dunn officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Valleytown Cemetery, Andrews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening immediately following the service.

Hey this is james Padgett, I just found out about Jason’s death. I’m so sorry. He was a great friend of mine, and loved him so. He use to come out to black mountain and jam with me all the time. He was our singer in the band TORQUE. My facebook page has the video of our last show in Black Mountain. Its under James Padgett. If u get this, contact me because ive been tring to find him sence the band broke up in 2005.
