Jerald Aaron Clark, 79, of Candler, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

A native of Joanna, SC, Jerald was a son of the late James Aaron and Lucille Arrington Clark.

Mr. Clark was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea. He was a graduate of Western Carolina University, obtaining a Master’s Degree, and retired as a Superintendent at BASF/American Enka after 35 years of service.

Mr. Clark loved life and his family. He enjoyed playing golf, and also enjoyed Harley Davidson’s. He was well loved and will be missed by all that knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ann Siler Clark; daughters, Laura Ann Lantz (Michael), Melissa Lynn Chappell (Kelvin), and Kristi Nicole Blankenship (Kevin); grandchildren, Jessica, Alyssa, Aaron, Tim, Tamara, Kendall, Patrick and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Aidon and Colton; sister, Judith Clark Kelley; niece and nephew, Janice and Jamie; his mother-in-law, Mary Hancock; and his beloved pets, Cooper and Kobe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ricky Netherton officiating. Attendance is limited to 50 individuals and face masks/coverings are required. Burial will follow at Hice Hill Cemetery.

For those wishing to pay their respects, Mr. Clark will lie in repose from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Robert Steward for his love and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Browns View Church Food Pantry, 25 Brown’s View Church Rd., Candler, NC 28715.

  2. Gerald was such a kind soul to me as a young girl. He watched me grow up and I will NEVER forget our trip to Virginia, Maryland, and DC. I know he will be missed tremendously. I pray for comfort for each of you as you travel without him physically but hold on tight to all of the precious memories and rejoice that you will see him again!

  12. I had the good fortune to have worked at American Enka/BASF for many of the same years as Jerald. He and I spent a lot of those years in the same departments, often working on the same problems together.
    While the problems were often challenging, we still had a lot of fun, for Jerald was a fun-loving guy, as well as a hard worker and always willing to do more than his share.
    He was a pleasure to work with and a valuable friend. May he Rest In Peace. Dick Allen
