Jessie Burrell Hunter, 87, formerly of 86 Martin Avenue, Asheville, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005.
Mrs. Hunter was born in Madison County and was married to A.D. “Dewey” Hunter who died in 1991. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Dewey E. Hunter of Asheville and three sisters, Reba Ray of Columbia, SC, Hilda Sands of Weaverville and Virginia Solesbee of Asheville.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
I am the niece of Jessie Hunter. She was a wonderful lady and very kind to me. I missed the memorial for her but would like to express my sympathy to the family.
We share uour sense of loss at this time. We can of course only imagine the loss of one’s mother. You have our deepest sympathies and please let us know if we can help you in any way.

I just wanted to say that Mrs Hunter was a very kind lady that will be very missed. She kept my two boys while I worked when they were small and you could not have asked for someone kinder to care for your children. You will be in my thoughts and my prayers.

We are very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Hunter was a Terriffic person. My son loved and enjoyed the days and time that he spent with her. She is greatlly missed.
