  5. Dear Family:
I want to send my condolences to you in your loss of Jimmy. I knew him when he would transport students to the Juvenile Evaluation Center where I was a school principal. Jimmy was always kind and courteous to those very difficult clients. I admired his caring attitude and generous spirit. Later, we served on the Asheville Police Adisory Council together. His insights were always clear and he contributed to some good advice for the Chief. I know he loved dancing and I enjoyed the funny e-mail forwards that we exchanged as we both retired. I will miss hearing from Jimmy and I hope that God will help you remember the wonderful things about him and will give you comfort. Betty J. Budd

  6. Our deepest condolences in your loss. Our prayers are with each of you during this sad time.

  7. Martha and family: Please know how shocked and saddened I was to hear the news of Jimmy’s passing. You each will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Jimmy was a longtime friend to the staff of the Buncombe Juvenile Detention Center and always gave a contribution to help buy Christmas treats/gifts for the juveniles locked up during the holidays.
Peace be with you during this time.

One of the qualities I will miss the most is his great sense of humor. He was a pure joy to be around and I am a better person having known him. Good bye Jimmy, I love you.

  10. We are so sorry for your loss. Mike worked with Jimmy at the Sheriff’s office years ago and I was a dental assistant for Dr Kennerly where Jimmy had dental work. We both thought the world of him and will keep you all in our prayers.

  16. As stated in the bio, Mr. Hungerford is the founder of Troop 427, Vienna, Austria. I’m currently writing a book about the history of BSA Scouting in Vienna and would LOVE to get as much information about Mr. Hungerford as possible. I need scouting stories/memories, dates/timelines, pictures, etc…anything and everything. It would also be GREAT if I can get my hands on any of his scouting relics!

    Kind regards,
    Jesse Rhoades
