Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I will be praying for you and your family Darlene. Just think she got to see Jesus before we did. Let me know if we can help.

  2. Darlene, we are so sorry for the loss of your mother. May you take comfort in knowing that you will see her again. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  3. So many memories of so many holiday meals shared and so many stories you told about the adventures and antics of George-Bryan, Daniel, and Patrick when they were at their beloved Nanny’s. I’m sure you and G-B will be making more new adventures to share with us when we get to heaven.
    ❤️ Caryl

  4. I am so sorry for your loss. JoAnn was a precious lady that I always enjoyed talking with. Darlene and family you are in my prayers. Love and prayers to you all.

  5. Darlene I’m so sorry for your loss of your precious Mother All of you are in my thoughts and my prayers I pray God will give you strength and peace Love and prayers

  6. Momma, not many have viewed this page, but for those that have and will, I want them to know how much you were loved and why. In my years as your daughter, I never once saw you be unkind to anyone. You had a heart for people, a love for life, despite things not always being good for you. If the truth needed to be told, you were courageous and bold. You stood firm without being confrontational, and much like Jesus, you offered comfort to those who were afflicted or who had been the “underdog” much like you were in your lifetime. You gave life your all, with singing (which is what you loved), your paintings, your laughter, and your innocent fun. You woke up each day taking a look at the glass half full instead of have empty. You were beautiful! You were fun! You were giving, kind, hopefully, gracious, classy and super intelligent. If only the world had known you like I did, they would have wanted to be near you, to be your dearest friend. On Monday, I will view you one last time with tears in my eyes and a brokenness that seems no one can ever repair. But you ask me to carry on your legacy. I made a promise to be the person that your were…loving God with all my heart, knowing laughter is the best medicine, and a smile can cure the most broken of souls. May I make you proud! We have no clue what it is like for you now, but the Bible tells us to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I hope He is smiling at you, as you and George-Bryan are taking a tour through Heaven. Also know my sweet momma, my boys, your grandsons, are the strength of this family – sons and grandsons to be proud of and yes, much of who they are was the result of God blessing them with having a grandmother (a Nanny) like you. Thank you momma for your love and teaching me so much about making life the best it can be. As you once told me, there is no greater gift in life than the love that comes from the Heavenly Father. May I immulate you, hold my head high and someday when God calls me home, pray that some one saw within me, the very beautiful of you. I love you, Momma. I love you!

And Momma, George is missing you too!

  7. Darlene, I did not know your Mom personally. But I know she raised a wonderful daughter. She has been your rock through the hard times and the best of times. I know your family are gathered around you with all their love and support. A hard day today and it’s OK to have strange feelings, to be upset, to be angry, to be sad, to trust in your faith will get you thru. I’m so sorry for your loss.

  8. This wonderful lady was a second Mother to me throughout my childhood. My earliest memories include Jo and Darlene. She made our days fun. We would pray for a huge snow keeping us out of school. Looking back I’m sure we drove her crazy with our shenanigans but she never fussed or complained. This was a woman I knew could do anything! She was a fabulous cook, canned all summer, made Darlene and I numerous dresses, even upholstered a sofa and chair. If she felt bad, we never knew it. She was beautiful inside and out. I loved her as a child and as an adult. Too many memories to share. Thanks Jo for loving me and treating me like your own!!!
