John Mark Lowe, Sr., 83, of Asheville, died June 8, 2017 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late Frank Lowe and Maggie McKinney Lowe. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Joyce Moss and Frankie Church. John served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Ball Brothers Corporation. He was a founding member and helped build the Biltmore Holiness Temple and faithfully attended the Biltmore Church of God. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Betty; his children, Debra Greene, Denise Taylor (Fred), and John Mark Lowe (Lori); grandchildren, Angela Brown (Jeff) and Maggie Grace Lowe; great-grandchildren, Kayla Marie Swann, Jeffrey Dylan Brown, Moriah Hope Greene and Josiah Jeffrey David Brown; and sisters Alta Lowe and Alice Long (JC). He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed by all his loved ones. Funeral services for Mr. Lowe will be held in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend Charles Coxie and Reverend Dale Whitson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery, Leicester Highway. Pallbearers will be Jeff Brown, Jeffrey Dylan Brown, David Moss, Thomas Partain, Anthony Lowe, Jerry Howard, and GP Melton.
