John Russell Cogburn, 51, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021.

A Candler native, John was a son of the late Joel and Jeanne Bradshaw Cogburn.

John loved music and was an accomplished guitar player. He wrote and played music throughout his life. He enjoyed making music with others and talking about his favorite bands and songs. He was a generous and caring person who never met a stranger. He will be missed by family, friends, coworkers, and fellow musicians.

He is survived by his brother, Jim Plemmons (Emily); uncle, Ron Bradshaw (Evelyn); and several special cousins and family members.

Due to ongoing concerns with COVID, a private family remembrance will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
