Asheville Butterfly TrailA lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late P.J. Crook and Hester Sexton Crook. She was also predeceased by her husband, Adam McDonald, who died in 1986.
She was a charter and lifelong member of the Oak Grove Christian Church, and was a custodian for the Glen Arden School.
She is survived by four daughters, Christine Plemmons and Shirley Pate of Arden, Betty Baynard of Hendersonville and Mary Ann Payton of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three sons, Charles and Richard McDonald of Arden and Robert McDonald of Horse Shoe; twenty two grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday in the Mausoleum Chapel of Pisgah View Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Zeke Crawford and Pastor Frank Denning.
The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the services, and at other times will be at the residence.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.
