Jose Manuel Vazquez, of Arden, died Thursday March 14, 2013 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
The infant son of Manuel Vazquez and Lisa Stepp, Jose was also survived by his brother, Kenneth Walker; his grandparents, Boyce and Kerrie Stepp, of Arden; one great-grandmother, Georgia Dillon, of Mills River; aunt and uncle, Christina and Lupe Vazquez as well as a host of other aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by one brother, Josiah.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2013 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Carl Bishop and Reverend C. Morris Boyd, D.M. officiating. Interment will follow at Words of Life Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a stuffed animal be brought to the funeral home in Jose's memory.

I am very sorry for your loss. When we lose someone we love it is a very hard thing for us to deal with. Please know that you can find comfort during this troubling time in you life. God gives us that comfort thru His word the Bible. We have the promise that God will “swallow up death forever” according to Isaiah 25:8. Wouldn’t you like to see this happen? How about the grand promise that He will actually resurrect our loved ones back to life!? Not to the life that they lived before they died, but to a life free of crime, disease, old age, etc. So please take comfort in knowing that Jehovah God knows your pain and is willing to help you cope with it until you are able to see your loved one again!
