Joseph Shaw Sheldon
June 16, 1914 ~ August 7, 1999

A native of Oliver Springs, TN, he had lived in Asheville since the 1930’s. He was a son of the late Joe and Lulu Sheldon and was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. He retired as manager of Eckerd’s Drug Store and was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheville for 55 years.
God gifted him with tremendous artistic talent.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Sheldon; a daughter Joyce Towe of Wilmington, DE; a son, Michael Sheldon of Morganton, NC; three grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be
2:00 pm Monday at First Baptist Church, Asheville, with the Rev. Gail Coulter officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park.
His family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
