Josephine Moore Singleton, 77, formerly of 1832 Old Haywood Road, died Sunday, October 21, 2001 in a local nursing facility. A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Singleton was the daughter of the late J. Alfred Moore and Turrah M. Moore and the wife of the late Wiley Carrol Singleton who died in April of 1987. Mrs. Singleton was a self-employed beautician for forty-eight years and a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Joe and his wife, Jan of Hendersonville, Jerry and his wife, Dena of Candler, Jim of Gastonia, Ken and his wife, Janice of Candler and Ric of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 24 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with Reverends Charlie Sams and Gene King officiating. Interment will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Pall bearers include Brian Singleton, Jerry Dean Singleton, Kenneth Lunsford, Edward Moore, Charles Moore and Steve Cooper.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
