Josh David Dalton

Joshua David Dalton, 34, of Asheville, left us to be in Heaven with God on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. An Asheville native, Josh was the son of Dana Dalton and Debra McCoy Dalton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Donella Dalton and grandfather Louis Gowan. One of Josh's greatest interests was martial arts. He attained the level of Blue Belt training with Jerry Dula. In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by his step-mother, Michelle Dalton; sister, Jasmine McCoy; grandmother Billie Gowan; grandfather, David McCoy; aunts, Doris McQuistin, Kimberly Ashe, Regina Proffitt, Betty Lou Sharpe, and Anita Dalton Roberson; uncles, Jeff Gowan and Johnny Ball; and cousins, Dickie Fender, Diane Duckworth, Selina Worley, Amanda Roberson and Becky Roberson. A memorial service for Josh will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Allen Rash officiating. His family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
