Juanita –
I love you. I remember the weekend you spent with me and identifying all the people in the old photograph from your childhood that only you could have done. I remember asking why you were not smiling and you told me that you were older and had a lot of responsibility for the younger children. I enjoyed our dinners out and visiting you in your home. I always loved your house with the little breakfast nook and pantry. You were a wonderful hostess, a beautiful, intelligent, and dignified lady. You were also a great aunt and I am going to miss knowing you are no longer at 183 Brucemont Circle. We at least kept in touch with Christmas cards every year. We have had many laughs – you were even able to laugh at yourself the last time I visited you and you couldn’t remember what you had just said. That infectious laugh and great sense of humor will be missed. You are now with Dad, Granny (MeMaw), Charlie and Kathleen to be a family again. You were so proud of your sons and grandchildren and great grandchildren. You showed me all of their pictures every time I came over – the last time, you had a hard time remembering all of their names, but, we laughed about that as well. I know you had a special bond with David Jr., who reminded us so much of your brother, (my father, Lyman). You took such good care of Kathleen and your mother during their illnesses and confinement. You did a lot of good while you were with us. Now, you can rest with your loved ones. You will be greatly missed by all who knew you.
Much love,
Teresa

Bobby and family. I just got back in town tonight, Monday evening, and saw in the paper about your mom. It brought back a lot of memories of you, your mom and mine. I still have good memories about the basketball and ping pong times we spent together. It would be great to see you. I won’t be able to be at the funeral as I have to be in Greenville SC tomorrow but Sharon and I are thinking of you and the family. If you have the opportunity to contact me I would love to talk some old times. My number is 828-684-3826, work 828-274-8888, my email is above.

Grandmother was a special part of my life and I could never express with words, how I feel. I thank the Lord for letting her be such a special part of my life. Thanks to my mom and dad who took such good care of her these past few months, I know how hard it was. I’m so glad that we were all with her till the end. She’s among the angels now, which she truly loved and I will always love her.
Our great grandmother was one in a million. She was one of a kind. She always saw the good, never the bad.She was kind, sweet, generous and caring. She always enjoyed our Sunday dinners because the family was all together and there was always good food. She also gave us a wonderful grandfather (Poppa) and uncle (Bob). She taught them to be loving and caring. She also had a very special place in her heart for our Daddy (Ray). And he loved being with her and joking around. We loved her just like a mom. We will always love you Grandnanny. You will always be a part of us. Love, Casey, Houston and Walker.
