Juanita Wright Medford, 81, of Candler, died on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Silver Bluff Village.
A native of Haywood Co., Mrs. Medford was a daughter of the late Clifford E. and Mabel Sherrill Wright. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William Wayne Wright and C.E. Wright, Jr.; sister, Virginia Galloway; and grandson, Nathan E. Blazer.
Mrs. Medford was a member of White Rock Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and with a trio. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and crocheting.
Mrs. Medford is survived by her husband, Dennis Medford; daughter, Phyllis Blazer; son, Greg Allen Medford; sister, Ruth Porter; brother, Harry Lee Wright; grandchildren, Hudson C. Hannah and Holley B. Medford; great-grandchild, Cody Holbrook; five nephews; and five nieces.
A funeral service for Mrs. Medford will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at White Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Oliver and the Rev. Richard Kinsland officiating. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
