Julia Mae Worley

Julia Mae Worley Arden – Julia Mae Worley, 73, of Arden, died Monday, June 1, 2009 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Norman K. and Ruth Sherlin Lunsford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julius A. Worley, Sr. who died in 2006; two sons, Julius A. Worley, Jr. and William Worley; one sister, Virgie Taylor and four brothers, Roy, Don, Bob and Howard Lunsford. Julia was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where she was involved in the WMU, the choir, and the Outreach Sunday School Class. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Hensley and her husband, William, of Arden; two sons, Earl Worley of Arden and Norman Worley and his wife, Angie, of Landrum, SC; three brothers, Jerry Lunsford and his wife, Betty, of Portland, OR, Harvey Lunsford and his wife, Lora, of Candler and Fred Lunsford and his wife, Linda, of Greenville, SC; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2009 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor John Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the funeral home.
