Katherine Williams Washington

Katherine Williams Washington passed away in Conway, SC on September 16, 2022.

Born in Asheville, NC December 13, 1970, she is survived by her husband, Vincent John Washington; her parents, Nancy Midgette Williams Yancey (stepfather Wesley Dean Yancey) of Mooresville, NC and James W Williams (stepmother Sheryl Williams) of Chapel Hill, NC; brothers Jim Williams of Virginia Beach, VA and Brian Williams (Heather) of Waxhaw, NC; her aunt and best friend, Dr. Roberta Gay Williams of California; her grandmother, Katherine Midgette Aydlett; her stepsister Leslie Hartley (David) of Hendersonville, NC and stepbrother Wesley Yancey; her brother in law, Blake Washington (Jenifer) of NY and sister in law, Kathleen Lara (Rick) of NY, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Katherine graduated TC Roberson High School in Asheville and UNC-Chapel Hill and was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheville. She worked with Wells Fargo for many years as a Relationship Manager in Charlotte, NC and Murrells Inlet, SC. Katherine loved helping people. She often came home so worried about her elderly clients. They would come in just to visit with Katherine. She would give them the biggest grin.

Katherine loved dogs, they meant the world to her. Katherine loved her CAROLINA TAR HEELS. She would always text friends and family to see if they were ready for the games. She was a loving and generous spirit who will always be in our hearts.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 22 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with burial of ashes to follow at Lewis Memorial Park in Asheville. Her family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
