Kathleen H. Satterwhite
January 5, 1905 ~ February 9, 1999
Mrs. Satterwhite was born in the Quaker Meadows Community near Morganton, Burke County, the daughter of the late Jobe Clingman and Ruth Butler Hicks.
In 1925, she married Clyde B. Satterwhite. They lived in Asheville for three years before moving to Salisbury. Mr. Satterwhite died in 1978 and she returned to Asheville in 1993, living at the Oaks at Sweeten Creek at the time of her death. She was a long time member of Gay's Chapel United Methodist Church in Rowan County and served there in many capacities. She was a practical nurse in Salisbury for a number of years.
She is survived by three sons, Clyde, Jr., Dan, and Jerry, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Friday at Gay's Chapel United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and request that memorials be made to the church.
