Mimi was the best grandmother I could have ever asked for.
One of my first memories ever was her playing the piano and me and my little sister dancing around underneath it swinging each other around. I have so many great memories with her and she will be missed by many people. She never missed a card on my birthday and was beloved by everyone.
A thousand candles can be lit by a single flame – may the light and memory of our loved ones be a blessing.
So soon, Mimi.
Love always – Michael.
With someone like you
A pal good and true
I’d like to leave it all behind
And go and find
Someplace that’s known to God alone
Just some spot to call our own
We’ll find perfect peace
Where joy will never cease
Somewhere beneath the starry sky
We’ll build a sweet little nest
Somewhere out in the west
And let the rest of the world go by
Love you forever, Mimi ❤️
We were blessed to have such an incredible grandmother.
There are many memories I’ll hold dear – rolling countless yarn balls on the couch next to her, helping put her hair rollers in, her amazing scrambled eggs, the many songs from her younger years she’d sing that are now so precious to us, and plenty of hijinks and fun memories that will always live on in our family. She was truly one of a kind.
Love you Mimi.
While I only recently got to meet Mimi, I’m so thankful to (finally!) have gotten to experience her kindness and thoughtfulness in person. I’ll never forget her positivity and smile, and will always treasure her love of craft – she made the very best 🪡 potholders.
Hoping we can play more word games in heaven one day, Mimi! 💚
I adored my beloved Aunt. She was kind, loving and an inspiration to all. She made the best potholders which I shared with family, friends and co-workers. She was a great cook and made the best rum cake. I loved her stories about my Mother and their early years together. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
Mama Kate, you were as beautiful on the inside as you were on the outside. Your love and kindness toward me never went unnoticed and was always appreciated. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Our hearts are all saddened to lose such a remarkable lady. Aunt Katie was equally beautiful inside and as was her outwardly appearance – always a smile and thoughtful sentiments for each of us. I can hear her saying, “I want to know how you are doing.” Thinking of others before self.
Katie Burrows has touched the lives of so many and left us each better. Dan, Daniel, and I remember the many cards that we received for our birthdays. We use Aunt Katie’s pot holders daily and each Christmas I make her Rum cake (using the recipe card written by her) and between my friends and coworkers – it will always be known as Aunt Katie’s Rum Cake.
Aunt Katie adored her beautiful daughters and was always so appreciative of the support that they gave her. After asking her if I could send her anything, her response was, “Jan was just here purchased and made all that I need.” She was so proud to speak of her grandkids and had a special bond with each. May her memory live on through each of you. I hope we all give the gentleness to others that she did.
We love you Aunt Katie, until we meet again. God Bless.

Kathleen was my first cousin, a bit older than me, but we were friends from childhood and throughout life. She probably would not have wanted people to gush over her, but I do. I always thought she was beautiful. She was also very kind. I bless her soul.
