Kay Turner Reese

Kay Turner Reese, 51, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 28, 2001 in a local hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Margaret Lunsford Turner. Despite her disabilities, she overcame many obstacles. She retired from Memorial Mission Hospital as a Registered Nurse and was an avid reader and lover of cats. She is survived by her husband, John D. Reese Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Laura T. and Ronnie Burleson of Mars Hills; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Pam Thomas of Lexington, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Norma Turner of Black Mountain; and 2 grandchildren, Shaina and Tiffany Burleson. A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends following the service and ask that you please bring with you any interesting stories or photos to share.
