Forrest “Kevin” McFee, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Kevin was the beloved son of Patricia Dunlap Todd and Malcolm Roger McFee. He was known for his kind spirit, quiet strength, and deep love for family.

In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his brother, Kris McFee, and his wife, Monica, as well as numerous cherished family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

His family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.

  10. To our beloved friends of so many years, Pat and Mackey. Our hearts are beyond shattered in the loss of sweet, sweet Kevin.

    Most people have no idea how many years our friendship and love for each other has existed. We know at least fifty-seven or more.
    More years for you, Mackey and Max.

    Max and I are still in a state of shock and I doubt we will live long enough for our grief for you two to begin to heal.

    Pat and Mackey, life has asked the ultimate sacrifice in losing a child. We four shared vacations together with so many laughs. Now life has asked of us to share your grief and you two know that Max and I will grieve beyond words for our beloved friends.

    Pat and Mackey, we have lived long enough to know how shallow our words are, but to have loved you two for so many years, we are trying our best not to seem so shallow in our words.

    May God hold you two, Kris and his family in the Palm of an ever loving God. Oh how we are praying for all, but I would think that absolutely nothing is touching your shattered hearts.

    Precious Kevin is such a handsome young man. Again, no one but the four of us knows how long our love for each other has endured.

    Dear God, please give this precious family the strength to endure and in the years ahead.

    We love you, Pat and Mackey, beyond measure, beyond all words.

  17. Kevin has held a spot in my heart since we met in the first grade at Woodfin. He was so sweet and kind, even as he grew older. He had a very good heart and I’m so sad to know that he’s left us. You have my and my family’s deepest condolences for your loss.

Dearest Mackey, Pat, Kris, Monica & Families ~ I’m so very sorry to hear about your loss of your sweet Kevin!!😢💔 My heart has been so very broken for “All of You” ever since I found out about his unexpected passing!!😥💔Mackey, I know how much your boys have always meant to You, & I’ve always enjoyed all your fb pictures throughout the years & heartfelt words & memories about them both, as they grew up. All those reflections you’ve shared of them with everyone, are all cherished memories that I know You & Pat both have always kept close to your hearts & always will. I know that both Kevin & Kris have always cherished all those beautiful moments & memories too. As Y’all move forward trying to adjust to life without Kevin now, just remember that nothing can ever take any of your precious memories away!!! Remember also, that this isn’t goodbye, & that Kevin’s graduated to Heaven & is always looking down on all of you with our Heavenly Father & all your other loved ones there!!! As handsome as he was here on earth, can you imagine what a very handsome angel he is now?!?!? As gentle & loving as he was to all of you & your family, & all who knew him, I’m sure his love for Christ is overflowing…I know God’s told him good job my mighty & faithful servant, as he placed Kevin’s Heavenly Crown on top of his head…can you imagine how full of diamonds & gemstones Kevin’s Heavenly Crown & Robe is?!?!? I bet they are sparkling bright as the Sun, for all his good deeds on earth!!!
    I know this isn’t going to be easy at all without him, & my heart totally hurts with yours, for all of you!!! Please know that Y’all have been & will continue to be in my thoughts & continued prayers, without ceasing always!!!🙏 I pray for God to give all of you comfort & strength beyond measures, & peace that surpasses all understanding!!!🙏 I pray that all your needs be met also!!!🙏 Praise God for his promise to all of us that believe in him & live for him, to have everlasting life in Heaven with God, Each Other, All our loved ones…both Families, Friends, including sweet Kevin, Someday for All of Eternity!!! ✝️
