June.
Our lives get busy and we don’t keep in touch with people who we think highly of. It sadden me to see your loss of your husband. I did not know him personally but I know he must have been a great guy to be married to you. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult period. I will never forget your generosity when Larry tossed boxes of diapers over the fence when I lived with my sister at 257 Brevard Rd. May God bless you and your family!

June, it has been five days since you called me about Larry. Even after the visition and service ,I am still walking around in a daze.Larry was one of my best friends. We had a ball all of our lives. Sports was great, from HF, then Lee Edwards and even later in life. We never gave up. I also remember our back porch chats about our faith in Jesus Christ. The only way I can get any peace was remembering Larry in the gasket with his Bible cluched in his hands. This is the bottom line in all our lives for all of us.Thanks to all who came to his services. Larry must have been pleased to see all the hundreds of people that showed up in his honor. So many people and so many years. I know Larry was looking down and smiling. Let us all carry on with Jesus Christ and Larry in our hearts and remember June and all the Brendle family in our prayers. And thank you Bill Ressler for the wonderful job you did with the service. You made us all very proud. God bless you all, Willy

June & Family, So sorry we were not able to attend the service, but I wanted you to know that Larry was a very special person to us. As a Christian Friend from Bent Creek and a Friend in the grocery business at Ingles. It was always a pleasure to have conversations with him and the laughter that he brought to the whole world. I had the pain of playing against Larry when he was at Hall Fletcher and the pleasure of having him as a teamate at Lee Edwards. We on many occasions double dated and did all the crazy things young men do. We both served in Veitnam and considered that we were brothers in both soul and arms.
To a friend, you will be missed but never forgotten.

I am a former high school classmate of Larry’s and I am sorry to learn of his passing. He was always bright, cheerful and full of fun in high school and was very popular.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
June, Tanya, Sonya and Gary,
Words can’t express how sorry we are to hear of Larry’s passing. When I think back on the times I have shared with your entire family, I certainly remember fondly Larry’s kindness, encouragement, laughter and the pride he had in his family. One very special memory I have of Larry goes back to when Gary and I were playing ball at App. I had a very bad game in the tournament against The Citadel, and my play should have cost our team the game, which at the time, seemed like a very big deal. Aside from my mom and dad, the first person to approach me was Larry Brendle. He provided such words of encouragement, that it really left a very strong impression on me. Now, looking back, that game certainly didn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but his words that day have always stayed with me. Please know that Dana and I will be praying specifically for your strength during this time and that the bond within your family grows even stronger under the comforting arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
LARRY AND I HAD MANY GOOD TIMES TOGETHER I REGRET THAT WE DIDNT STAY IN TOUCH MAY GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY
I will miss Larry on the Ingles set. I will keep his family in my prayers, If I can help in any way please call, my phone # 828-658-9884.
June,
We were so saddened to hear about Larry’s passing. Our sympathy is with you and your family at this time. Burnie is ‘laid up’ with a total knee replacement but I will see you soon.
Again, our sympathy to you and your family during this most difficult time.
June,
So sorry for your loss. Reading the other listing in the guestbook, the words all say passion for life, but we saw the passion he had for His Lord and Savior -Jesus Christ. Hold tight to the word, and the promise that we will see him again in heaven.
As former classmates, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family.
Larry and I were classmates at both Hall Fletcher and Lee Edwards. I remember him as a good athletes as well as a good person. I was glad to have seen and visited with him recently at the Moose Cafe breakfast. I will remember his warmth and obvious happiness with life.
I send my sincere condolences to his family.
Larry was such a force whenever he was on the football field or with his classmates at Lee Edwards. I left Asheville in ’62 basically to only return once a year or so for a visit with some family and friends so was not able to keep up with him. He is someone I would want on my side in a cause or in a fight.
To June and all the family.
Larry was such a great person. He was always smiling and gave me a ‘Hello’ and a hug when I saw him. We always talked about you and other family members and sometimes the ‘old West Asheville Group’.
June, you will always be very special to me as you were with me when I met my ‘Buddy’ at Malvern Hills Park, about 50 years ago….
We have been married 47 years now.
Please know that our prayers and thoughts are with you and the family. Larry is now with his Lord and is at rest.
God bless you all.
Irma Dayton Rudisill
I worked with Larry for many years. He was always a good friend to me. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear June and Family,We were so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing, but we know for a fact he was ready as anyone could be for he spoke to us many times about what the Lord meant to him and how he loved Him.When Ken was at Ingle’s he so enjoyed Larry when he came to the office to talk.It was so much fun working with him at the food shows and we really miss that still.I always loved forcing him to dance with me at the food show parties because Larry was my favorite dance partner in school. Our boys Derick and Danny loved him too and spoke of him often. It was a privilege to know Larry and call him friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful family…Ken and Mary Jo Jarvis
