Larry Lee Warren, 63, of 501 Warren Creek Road, Candler, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at his home. Mr. Warren was a lifelong resident of the Upper Hominy Community in Candler and was preceded in death by his father, Ulysses S. Warren. He was retired from BASF after 36 years of service and enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Surviving are his mother, Daisy Keith Warren of Candler; his loving wife of 44 years, Marie Pressley Warren; two sons, Darryl Warren and his wife Levita and Danny Warren and his wife Sherry; two grandsons Josh and Brian Warren, all of Candler; five brothers, Charles Warren, Frank Warren, Robert Warren, Jerry “Buck” Warren and Johnny Warren, all of Candler; four sisters, Helen Overman of Charles City, VA, and June Foster, Lillian Shepard and Ruth Sherlin of Candler; many nieces and nephews and good friends. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Austin Watts officiating, assisted by the Rev. Furman Wilson. His family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
