Laura Wilson Hamlin

Laura Wilson Hamlin, 94, of Asheville, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Herman and Rosa Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Fleming, and by her brother, Dean Wilson. Mrs. Hamlin was a member of Elkwood United Methodist Church. She retired from Square D., and most recently was a resident of Givens Health Care Center. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Causey, and by nieces Judy Ownbey and Nancy Wilson. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Ryland Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Christian Church, 147 Oren Dr., Mills River, NC 28759. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
