Lawrence Neal Levi, Sr., 85, died Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the VA Medical Center.
Mr. Levi was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late David and Maggie Brown Levi and was also preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence Neal Levi, Jr., and Phillip James Levi. He was an Army paratrooper during WW II. He was a former heavy equipment operator and worked at the farmer's market both on Lexington Avenue and Brevard Road. He attended the Truth Worship Center.
Surviving are his wife, Linda M. Levi; two daughters, LaDonna King and DeLana Moss, a sister, Alline Watts and husband, Harold, 16 grandchildren and a number of great and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with the Rev. Byron Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in the Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends form 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

Levi will be missed very much. He was a good man and a good friend to me.
Although its been a long time you were still remembered.
I had only meet him a couple of times. Thought him to be a great man and thank you for you service.

You all know he was like a 2nd father to me and he is going to be missed at the center.

It was both a pleasure and a privilege to have Levi as a patient. He was one of my first ,when I started in HBPC. Levi was very special to me. He will be missed.
