Lena Sue Field Owen, 88, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the John F. Keever Solace Center.
Born in Buncombe County, Mrs. Owen was a daughter of the late William McKinley and Eleanor Gillespie Field. She worked for 37 years with the Air Weather Service as a key punch operator.
Surviving are her children, Carolyn Treadway (Jimmy), Charles Michael Owen (Jane), and Patricia O. Simmons; three grandchildren, Brandon Treadway, Katie Owen and Breanne Simmons; and two sisters, Pauline Melton and Ruth Davis.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Joe Yelton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
