Lila Mae Sanford Young, 79, of 143 Sardis Road, Asheville, died Friday, January 1, 1999 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Young was a native of Haywood County and a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lonnie Sanford in 1974.
She is survived by her husband, George D. Young; four daughters, Frances Stevens of Asheville, Floree Robinson of Mills River, Daisy Metcalf of Asheville, Martha Hendrix of Enka; two sons, Robert 'Bobby' Sanford of Leicester, Ervin Sanford of Asheville; a sister, Mary Sue
Branson of Canton; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Chapel conducted by the Rev. Charles Shelton.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
