  7. For Linda’s family,
Linda was such a beautiful, sweet person. (Charles was also a friend) I knew Linda through the American Business Women’s Association. (ABWA). She was very active in all aspects of the Educational Association. Linda wore and modeled beautiful hats in the Annual ABWA Champagne Chapeaux fundraiser held at the Grove Park Inn each year. Linda always had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and I knew her as a dear friend. My sincere thoughts and sympathy to the family. She will be truly missed.

  8. I have some really great memories of your mother and father and you two boys, Mike and Jeff, going all the way back to my childhood on Pond Road when our families both had dairy farms. Linda had a big heart and so much enthusiasm for life. I’ve always had a soft spot for your mom ever since I looked up to her as a little girl. I remember just loving to hear her talk. About the most heartfelt thing I remember about Linda came years later, the day she brought us a dish of her fabulous jerk chicken. My father (Bob) was very ill, and she knew we could use some TLC. I’ve never forgotten how delicious that chicken was, garnished beautifully with orange slices. Her kindness and friendship that day meant so much. My mother, Lucy, admired Linda too, so much so that she nominated her to the WNC Agricultural Hall of Fame into which Linda was inducted in 2009. Though I’ve lived away from WNC for many years and haven’t seen you, I hope it helps to know how much others care.
    Love,
    Linda Crowell Ball

  11. Jeff and Mike so sorry about your loss. I remember the time Linda and I spent looking for the right horse in the mid 60’s. The time at Sand Hill High. The calls after we grew older to check on each other’s health. She was a true friend. May God be with you.

  12. Mike, Jeff and family we are so sorry for your loss. She was such a special person and we have so many fond memories. We love you all and feel like you are a part of our family. We will always cherish the memories and friendship.

  13. Jeff & Mike, I knew your mom all my life. We grew up from very small children together and my admiration for her was never equaled. My mom and dad were friends with Lucy and Clyde and we got to visit frequently. I can remember sitting in the floor playing. It brakes my heart to know that she is gone but I know that she is in a better place and I also know that we will be reunited in the not so distant future. She was the beauty of my life and many others. God bless you and your familys. My heart is crying with you.

  14. My sincere thoughts and sympathy to the family and friends. Linda will be truly missed. I always enjoyed doing the horse club events and shows with her. I hope she is enjoying the ride on her favorite horses.

  20. Just heard earlier today of Linda’s passing. Don’t have the words to write. But I always enjoyed when she stopped by the stables to say hi to Blue (he’s 23 now) where he lived at Ford Brooke Stables from January 2007-June 2013, till we moved to Tennessee.

  21. I am so sorry, I just found out about Linda’s passing. She was always such a beautiful part of our family, she made me feel like family & will be greatly missed. I will always cherish my memories on the farm & was so blessed to be able to have you all in my life. When Linda showed up for Daddy’s funeral, it made me feel so loved. Please know that I am always here if you all need me for anything. Much love prayers.
