Linda Brittain Woodward, 73, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Silverbell Homestead in Fletcher.

Mrs. Woodward was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia and daughter to the late John V. and Edna W. Brittain.

She was a graduate of UNCA, a social worker, a realtor, a homebuilder, and an accomplished gardener and rock mason. She had a gift for getting a stranger’s life story in an elevator, for being a sounding board, and for loving unlovable dogs.

She is survived by her two daughters, Olivia Martin (Bryan) and Millicent Woodward, and a granddaughter, Anna Martin. She is survived also by a host of friends in the Fairview area, especially in Ravenwood Estates where she resided for over 30 years, and by her beloved Golden Girls Sunday school class at Biltmore Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on April 30 at 28 Sourwood Lane, Fletcher.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Asheville Humane Society.

In the 46 yrs I have known Linda we’ve had many family beach trips together…held each other’s hand when our children we’re navigating becoming adults & many drop in visits to say a quick “hi” turned into hours of getting caught up & knowing we would see each other again & look forward… to do it all over again. I was blessed to have you as my friend.
