Linda Propest Reece, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 19, 2023.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dale Reece (2013), her parents, James and Elsie Propest and her brother, James Gary Propest.

Linda was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where she actively participated in Sunday School, Anna’s Heart and the Nursing Home Ministry. Linda worked at Southern Bell Telephone Co., Lowes and Cracker Barrel. She loved to play the piano and had the most wonderful smile and vivacious personality.

Linda is survived by her Aunt Irene Guy as well as several extended family members. She is also survived by a host of Brothers and Sisters in Christ from Trinity Baptist Church. All who knew her loved her dearly.

We would like to thank the staff of Aston Park Healthcare Center and Four Seasons Hospice for their love and care for Linda.

A memorial service to honor the life of Linda will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Allen Rash, Pastor Doug Guy and Mark Elliott.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Linda’s name to the Asheville Bible Class of Trinity Baptist Church, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.

  1. Linda and I met at Lowes where I shopped a lot and became friends. She was such a precious lady with a contagious smile. I loved her dearly. May she rest in peace with her Lord and Savior.

  7. I’m so sorry for your loss. I worked with Linda at Lowes for a brief time, but I always looked for her anytime I was there. She always had a big smile and comforting words for everyone who knew her. May she rest in peace.

  8. I remember seeing Linda at Lowes, and she was always a bright light in this world. She was always smiling and very kind. She was loved very much by her Aunt Irene. Irene was always speaking fondly of Linda. I am sad to hear of her passing, and I am praying for her family.
