Lisa Stirewalt Herila

Lisa Stirewalt Herila, born in Buncombe County on January 19, 1959, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Feb. 23, 2022, at the Elizabeth House, located in East Flat Rock, N.C. She lost her battle against brain cancer, which she was diagnosed with in April 2021. She was a well respected and loved member of Biltmore Church’s Arden Location. She was a devoted Christian and lived her life loving God, her family and friends, including all those who called her Momma Lisa and Nana.

Lisa was the daughter of the late Charles Stirewalt, Jr. of Buncombe County, N.C. She is survived by her mother Beverly Lorenz, of Colorado, brother Jamie Stirewalt, of Deland, FL, three sons, and six grandchildren. Jase and wife Christine Herila their two sons, Tyler and Devon Herila of Horse Shoe, NC; Jesse Herila, daughter Bella Granger Herila, and son Lucas Herila of Arden, Theo Herila of Arden, his two sons, Caleb Wilkins, and Theodore Franklin Herila III, of Three Rivers, MI. Lisa retired from the USPS and graduated from T.C. Roberson High School. She loved doing mission work with her church, Biltmore Baptist, and she also helped with Meals on Wheels.

The family would like to invite those who loved her to join them in celebration of the life she lived. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday the 1st of March, 2022 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden. Her family will receive friends following the service.
