LOIS FINLEY WILLIS CANDLER – Lois Finley Willis, 88, of Samuel Lane, Candler, died Monday, January 18, 2010, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. Mrs. Willis was born in Marion and was a daughter of the late Alfred Moore and Hattie Duncan Finley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe H. Willis who died March 30, 2009, a son, DeWayne K. Willis, who died in May, 2009, and by ten brothers and sisters. She was a member of Hominy Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Jennie Dalton of Candler and Pattie Willis Hendrix and her husband, Dr. James Noble Hendrix, of Palm City, FL; five grandsons, David Dalton, Joe Willis, Robert Willis, A. Noble Hendrix, and Jimmy Hendrix; and five great-grandchildren, Dustin, Josephine, Lily, Campbell and Palmer. A private family service with burial at Pisgah View Memorial Park will be scheduled later. Memorials may be made to Hominy Baptist Church, 135 Candler School Road, Candler, NC 28715. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
