Louise Long Brown, 80, of 19 Jenkins Brown Road, Leicester, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 22, 2004, at peace in her sleep.
Mrs. Brown was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Charles Reagan Long, Sr. and Wavie Belle Hill Long. She was married to Joe Brown who died in 1999. She was a member of Leicester United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, Larry Brown, his wife Darlene and their sons Thomas and Justin, all of Leicester; three grandchildren, Rachel Hensley and her husband Bill, Joshua Brown and Jeremy Brown; two great-grandchildren William and Jacob Hensley; a sister Juanita L. Aiken of West Asheville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

My deepest sympathy to all of the family. I have a lot of good memories of Joe and Louise coming to my restaurant in Canton and all of our times working together for the Democrat Party in WNC.
My sympathy in your loss. Joe and Louise were always such supporters of Leicester High School and its athletic programs. Their enthusiasm was contagious and always will be missed.
