Virgie “Louise” Parker Stevens, 75, of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of Virgie McDonald Parker and of the late James P. Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Stevens. In addition to her mother, Louise is survived by two sons, Gregory Scott Finch and his wife, Susan and Brian Adrian Finch; five grandsons, James G. Finch, Carl S. Finch, Cody R. Finch, Brandon M. Finch and Auston “Zayne” Finch; one sister, Joyce Bledsoe, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Louise was a longtime, active member of Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also loved making jewelry and crafts, dancing, playing the piano, organ and keyboard and reading books. She was a constant student, always wanting to read and gain knowledge about different topics. She will always be remembered as a good and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 1 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 2 at Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

  4. Louise was an asset as admin asst at Oak Hil UM church. She was always willing to learn something new and was extremely helpful with anything we asked of her. She always loved telling me about her sons and grandsons, especially Carl. I know you ALL will miss her!!!!!

    To sons and family, you already know what a blessing this sweet lady was TO ALL, but few of us can say that our mom was so special that not one negative thought can be had of her. I will cherish my good fortune in knowing Louise.
